Tashi Dorji

Tashi Dorji graduated from the School of Science at Edith Cowan University in Western Australia. He worked on examining how climate change shapes human wellbeing through Bhutan’s pursuit of Gross National Happiness. He is a Fellow of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Scholarship Programme (2024–2025) and a recipient of ECU’s Higher Degree by Research Scholarship.

He began his career in Bhutan's print media more than two decades ago. He served as Founding Editor and Managing Director of Business Bhutan, Managing Editor of Bhutan Times, News Editor of Bhutan Observer, and as a reporter for Kuensel. He won an international award titled “Best Media Report on Climate Change Adaptation from the Asia Pacific region” in 2012 for a newspaper article titled: “Three deaths challenge Bhutan’s commitment to climate change”. He is the author of multiple handbooks, including the Climate Reporting Handbook (2023), Navigating Infodemics, Misinformation & Disinformation (2021), Oral History of Bhutan (2019), Bhutan Climate + Change Handbook (2016), and The Green Mandala: What Makes Bhutan an Environmental Paradise (2015).
