Pema Chentsho

Pema Chentsho holds a Master of Science in Telecommunications and Informatics Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, Portugal, awarded through an Erasmus Mundus scholarship. She also completed a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering in Bhutan and is currently finalising a Master of Project Management at Edith Cowan University, Australia. Her research focuses on survivability and physical-layer impairments in optical transport networks, culminating in a peer-reviewed article published in Optical Fibre Technology and her master’s thesis titled Optimisation of Survivable Optical Transport Networks in the Presence of Physical-Layer Impairments.

 Alongside her academic work, she was elected as President of the ECU Student Guild, representing the student body at the University Council and leading initiatives to promote transparency, inclusivity, and community engagement. Her research interests lie in optimising optical networking, resilient network architecture, and governance. She brings to the editorial role a commitment to technical rigour, interdisciplinary relevance, and applied research impact.
