Dr. Omsin Jatuporn (PhD)

Omsin Jatuporn, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Social Foundations of Education at the Faculty of Education, Chiang Mai University, Thailand, where he serves as the chairperson of M.Ed. and PhD in Education (Multicultural Education) programs and research with the Centre for Multiculturalism and Education Policy. His work focuses on critical curriculum studies, multicultural education, and decolonising educational practices, with particular emphasis on challenging Thai-centric approaches through frameworks like “Asia as Method” and environmental global citizenship.

 His research interests include socio-cultural foundations of education, teacher education, and critical pedagogy, with publications in Kasetsart Journal of Social Sciences, Journal of International Social Studies, and book chapters with Palgrave Macmillan and Bloomsbury. Dr. Jatuporn leads several major funded research initiatives examining teacher preparation models, culturally responsive pedagogy, and citizenship education during social unrest. His international engagement includes presentations across Asia while maintaining editorial roles for multiple academic journals in education and social sciences.
