Sonam Chuki

Sonam Chuki is a passionate storyteller and a media professional with a Bachelor of Arts in English Studies (Honours) from Royal Thimphu College. Her work spans writing, editing, facilitation, and youth engagement, with a strong focus on amplifying voices and capturing human experiences.

She has contributed as a writer for 108 Stories from Bhutan and Humans of Thimphu, where she interviewed, transcribed, and published impactful human-interest stories. Her facilitation experience includes leading creative workshops in photography and storytelling for youth, as well as engaging in community-building initiatives through Camp RUFprograms across Bhutan. Beyond storytelling, Sonam has worked as a finance and business reporter for The Bhutanese, Bhutan’s leading private newspaper, where she combines her writing skills with data-driven journalism. Her diverse skill set also includes proficiency in Microsoft Office, Photoshop, and multilingual communication in Dzongkha, English, Bumthap, Nepali, Hindi, and Thai.

Sonam is recognised for her academic achievements and also as a certified facilitator under the Education Beyond Schooling program. She continues to pursue opportunities that merge creativity, media, and social impact with her passion for reading, creative writing, photography, and engaging with communities to share authentic, untold stories.
